Clara Ann Thompson (b 22 Jan. 1869, Rossmoyne, OH | d 18 Mar. 1949, Cincinnati, OH), daughter of John Henry Thompson and Clara Jane Gray, former slaves, and sister of Garland Yancey Thompson and poet Priscilla Jane Thompson. Clara devoted much of her life to literary pursuits, writing Songs from the Wayside (1908) and A Garland of Poems (1926). In her later years, she lived with a niece in Cincinnati and gave catechism instruction at St. Andrews Episcopal.
