B. attended Mount Lebanon Academy, Louisiana; Louisiana College, Pineville, Louisiana; the Southwestern Baptist Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas; the Siegel-Myers Correspondence School of Music, Chicago, Illinois (BM.1922); and the Bush Conservatory of Music, Chicago. Oklahoma Baptist University awarded him an honorary MusD degree in 1942. McKinney served as music editor at the Robert H. Coleman company in Dallas, Texas (1918–35). In 1919, after several months in the army, McKinney returned to Fort Worth, where Isham E. Reynolds asked him to join the faculty of the School of Sacred Music at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He taught at the seminary until 1932, then pastored in at the Travis Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Worth (1931–35). In 1935, McKinney became music editor for the Baptist Sunday School Board in Nashville, Tennessee. M. Lynwood Smith

1924 - 2007 Author of "Gazing Upward Into Heaven" in Blessed Refuge Morris Lynwood Smith (1924-2007) was a preacher for Churches of Christ. He preached and held gospel meetings throughout Oklahoma, Alabama, and elsewhere. He helped initiate a special annual gathering of one-cup congregations on July 4 and New Year's Day that met in a different Oklahoma town each year. His interest in music led him to attend the Stamps Quartet School of Music in 1947. He sang with "The Zita Boys," a quartet composed of Johnny Elmore, Billy Smith, C. A. Smith, and himself. Smith wrote and published several songs, often writing a song for the annual meetings. In his lifetime, Smith published 16 songbooks of his and others' songs and hymns. George C. Stebbins

1846 - 1945 Composer of "ALL FOR JESUS" in Favourite Hymns of the Church Stebbins studied music in Buffalo and Rochester, New York, then became a singing teacher. Around 1869, he moved to Chicago, Illinois, to join the Lyon and Healy Music Company. He also became the music director at the First Baptist Church in Chicago. It was in Chicago that he met the leaders in the Gospel music field, such as George Root, Philip Bliss, & Ira Sankey. At age 28, Stebbins moved to Boston, Massachusetts, where he became music director at the Claredon Street Baptist Church; the pastor there was Adoniram Gordon. Two years later, Stebbins became music director at Tremont Temple in Boston. Shortly thereafter, he became involved in evangelism campaigns with Moody and others.
