Thy way, not mine, O Lord

Hymnal: Hymnal #254 (1871) Lyrics: 1 Thy way, not mine, O Lord, However dark it be: Lead me by Thine own hand, Choose out the path for me. Smooth let it be or rough, It will be still the best; Winding or straight, it leads Right onward to Thy Rest 2 I dare not choose my lot; I would not if I might: Choose Thou for me, my God; So shall I walk aright. Take Thou my cup, and it With joy or sorrow fill As best to Thee may seem; Choose Thou my good and ill. 3 Choose Thou for me my friends, My sickness or my health; Choose Thou my cares for me, My poverty or wealth. Not mine, not mine the choice In things or great or small; Be Thou my guide, my strength, My wisdom, and my all. Topics: Offices of the Church Visitation of the Sick Languages: English

Thy Way, Not Mine, O Jesus Dear

Author: Horatius Bonar Hymnal: Hymnal for Church and Home #300 (1927) Meter: 8.6.8.6 Lyrics: 1 Thy way, not mine, O Jesus dear, Tho' dark it oft may be; But let thy light to me appear And choose the path for me. 2 Tho' hard and steep my path proceeds, It surely serves me best, And by Thy grace it upward leads To heaven's Sabbath rest. 3 I dare not walk the path alone, I would not, if I might; But, Jesus, keep me with Thine own, And lead me by Thy light. 4 Give me the food most meet for me And fill my cup each day; But heal my wounds and set me free From sin and Satan's sway. 5 Press onward then, my weary soul, To heaven's Sabbath rest, And journey safely to the goal, Led by thy Savior blest.
