Exalt the Lord, his praise proclaim

Hymnal: Trinity Hymnal #12 (1961) Meter: 8.8.8.8 D Lyrics: 1 Exalt the Lord, his praise proclaim; All ye his servants, praise his Name, Who in the Lord's house ever stand And humbly serve at his command. The Lord is good, his praise proclaim; Since it is pleasant, praise his Name; His people for his own he takes And his peculiar treasure makes. 2 I know the Lord is high in state, Above all gods our Lord is great; The Lord performs what he decrees, In heaven and earth, in depths and seas. He makes the vapors to ascend In clouds from earth's remotest end; The lightnings flash at his command, He holds the tempest in his hand. 3 Exalt the Lord, his praise proclaim; All ye his servants, praise his Name, Who in the Lord's house ever stand And humbly serve at his command. Forever praise and bless his Name, And in the church his praise proclaim; In Zion is his dwelling place; Praise ye the Lord, show forth his grace. Amen. The Spacious Firmament

Author: Joseph Addison, 1672-1719 Hymnal: Worship and Service Hymnal #21 (1957) First Line: The spacious firmament on high Lyrics: 1 The spacious firmament on high, With all the blue, ethereal sky, And spangled heavens, a shining frame, Their great Original proclaim. Th'unwearied sun from day to day, Does his Creator's power display; And publishes to every land The work of an almighty hand. 2 Soon as the evening shades prevail, The moon takes up the wondrous tale; And nightly, to the listening earth, Repeats the story of her birth; Whilst all the stars that round her burn, And all the planets in their turn, Confirm the tidings as they roll, And spread the truth from pole to pole. 3 What though in solemn silence, all Move round this dark terrestrial ball? What though no real voice nor sound Amidst their radiant orbs be found? In reason's ear they all rejoice, And utter forth a glorious voice. Forever singing, as they shine, "The hand that made us is divine." Amen. Topics: Choir; God the Father God in Nature; Worship Languages: English Tune Title: CREATION
