Hark how the adoring hosts above

Hymnal: Church Hymnary (4th ed.) #744 (2005) Meter: 8.6.8.6 Topics: The Church Celebrates Oneness with the Church in Heaven Lyrics: 1 Hark how the adoring hosts above with songs surround the throne! Ten thousand, thousand are their tongues; but all their hearts are one. 2 Worthy the Lamb that died, they cry, to be exalted thus; worthy the Lamb, let us reply; for he was slain for us. 3 Thou hast redeemed us with thy blood, and set the prisoners free; thou mad'st us kings and priests to God, and we shall reign with thee. 4 From every kindred, every tongue, thou brought'st thy chosen race; and distant lands and isles have shared the riches of thy grace. 5 To him who sits upon the throne, the God whom we adore, and to the Lamb that once was slain, be glory evermore. Scripture: Revelation 5:11-14 Languages: English Tune Title: ST. MAGNUS (NOTTINGHAM)

How bright these glorious spirits shine!

Hymnal: Church Hymnary (4th ed.) #745 (2005) Meter: 8.6.8.6 D Topics: The Church Celebrates Oneness with the Church in Heaven Lyrics: 1 How bright these glorious spirits shine! Whence all their bright array? How came they to the blissful seats of everlasting day? Lo! these are they, from sufferings great who came to realms of light, and in the blood of Christ have washed those robes which shine so bright. 2 Now, with triumphal palms, they stand before the throne on high, and serve the God they love, amidst the glories of the sky. His presence fills each heart with joy, tunes every mouth to sing: by day, by night, the sacred courts with glad hosannas ring. 3 Hunger and thirst are felt no more, nor suns with scorching ray; God is their sun, whose cheering beams diffuse eternal day. The Lamb who dwells amidst the throne shall o'er them still preside, feed them with nourishment divine, and all their footsteps guide. 4 'Mong pastures green he'll lead his flock, where living streams appear; and God the Lord from every eye shall wipe off every tear. Scripture: Revelation 7:13-17 Languages: English Tune Title: ST. ASAPH

Jerusalem the golden

Author: Bernard of Cluny (12th century); John Mason Neale (1818-1866) Hymnal: Church Hymnary (4th ed.) #747 (2005) Meter: 7.6.7.6.7.6.7.6 Topics: The Holy Spirit The Church Celebrates - Oneness with the Church in Heaven Lyrics: 1 Jerusalem the golden, with milk and honey blessed, beneath your contemplation sink heart and voice oppressed: I know not, oh, I know not what joys await us there, what radiancy of glory, what bliss beyond compare. 2 They stand, those halls of Zion all jubilant with song, and radiant with the angels and all the martyr throng; the Prince is ever in them, the daylight is serene, the pastures of the blessèd are decked in glorious sheen. 3 There is the throne of David; and there, from care released, the shout of those who triumph, the song of those who feast; and they who, with their Leader, have conquered in the fight, for ever and for ever are clad in robes of white. 4 O sweet and blessèd country, the home of God's elect! O sweet and blessèd country that eager hearts expect! Jesus in mercy bring us to that dear land above, where you, with God the Father and Spirit, reign in love. As stars adorn the night-veiled sky

Author: Carl P. Daw, Jr. (b. 1944) Hymnal: Church Hymnary (4th ed.) #748 (2005) Meter: 8.8.8.8 Topics: The Church Celebrates Oneness with the Church in Heaven Lyrics: 1 As stars adorn the night-veiled sky, arrayed like jewels rare and bright, so shine God's saints in every age to give the world new hop, new light. 2 The light saints bear is not their own but shines through them as gift and sign: to show how God can use and bless frail human means for ends divine. Through saints we glimpse the light of Christ, the Morning Star that crowns the night, whose rising heralds God's new day, the promised dawn of life and light. 4 That light is ours to claim and share, not merely praise or gaze upon: for all who are baptized become light-bearers through the Risen One. 5 The saints inspire and challenge us our holy calling to embrace: to bear Christ's light in our own day, to be the vessels of God's grace. Scripture: 1 Peter 2:9 Languages: English Tune Title: WAREHAM
