James, Marion (Mrs. Roy William Price). (1913--?). Aurora, Illinois; communicant of Trinity Episcopal Church. A former journalist, she earned an A.B. from Vassar College.

Marion James (Mrs. Roy William Price) is the author of two books of verse, juvenile stories, and poems, and over fifty sacred and secular lyrics. Her children's hymns are published by the Oxford Press, England, the United Church of Canada, Seabury Press, and the Lutheran Church of America, with recordings by the latter, 1966-1969. Her hymn text, "O Jesus, Who Once Heard the Plea", with music by John Leo Lewis, published by the Hymn Society in 1961, appeared in the 1968 Advent Christian Hymnal. Also in collaboration with Mr. Lewis, she won the Drexel Award of 1955, second place in the Moravian Contest of 1956, and the Harvey Gaul Award of 1957. The mother of three children, she resides with her husband in Aurora, Illinois, where she is a communicant of Trinity Episcopal Church. A former journalist, she holds an A.B. from Vassar College, and is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers.
