Attended Williston's Seminary, East Hampton, Mass. 1855 to Hudson, New York, then Albany. Taught in Ypsilanti, Michigan, then Detroit. Settled in Janesville, Wisconsin. Served in the Civil War. Settled in Chicago; married Belle Kellogg.

Adaline Hohf Beery
1859 - 1929 Author of "Working for the Master" Adaline H. Beery was born on December 20, 1859 in Hanover, Pennsylvania. Adaline’s family moved to Iowa when she was 10 years old. She attended Mount Morris College Academy, Mount Morris, Illinois and for while taught in Iowa public schools. Adaline wrote hundreds of poems, many of which appeared in Brethren periodicals and in the 1897 Poems of a Decade. She died on February 24, 1929, Kane, Illinois.

Person Name: Adaline Holf Beery Author of "Working for the Master" in Triumphant Songs No.3 In some hymnals, the editors noted that a hymn's author is unknown to them, and so this artificial "person" entry is used to reflect that fact. Obviously, the hymns attributed to "Author Unknown" "Unknown" or "Anonymous" could have been written by many people over a span of many centuries.
