Down, Down, Down

Representative Text

1 In the storm of life, in the waves of sin,
While the maddened billows rush wildly in;
Losing, alas! his manhood’s crown,
Many a bright, young life goes down, down, down,
An immortal soul goes down.

2 In temptation’s whirl, in the blinding glare
Of the lightning flashes through the air;
Losing the bright, eternal crown,
Many a precious life goes down, down, down,
An immortal soul goes down.
