24. Going Home

1 There’s a place I long to be,
Where from toil and care I’m free,
And no storm will break upon that peaceful shore,
Where the Rose of Sharon blooms,
Where we’ll see no silent tombs,
In that paradise we’ll live forevermore.

Refrain:
Going home, I’m going home,
To that ever peaceful clime where angels dwell;
Going home, I’m going home,
O what joy no tongue can tell.

2 In that glorious land of rest,
With the ransomed and the blest,
Far beyond the shaded vale, where all is bright;
And where trials never come,
In that happy, happy home,
There we’ll meet our loved ones in that land of light. [Refrain]

3 Yonder where our friends await,
Just inside the pearly gate,
We will greet to part no more, oh what a thought!
Our Redeemer we shall meet,
And we’ll worship at his feet,
For our pardon on the cross he freely bought. [Refrain]

4 Yes, we’re going home to stay
In that land of cloudless day;
There eternal bliss is waiting for us all:
There are fields of fadeless green,
There the Tree of Life is seen,
We are ready, waiting for the Master’s call. [Refrain]
