86. A Time of Refreshing

1 There’s a time of refreshing from the presence of the Lord,
When the mighty show’rs of blessing richly fall;
While our pray’rs are ascending, many songs in sweet accord,
And the wand’rers hear the Saviour’s loving call.

Refrain:
Send it now, Lord, the Pentecostal blessing;
All to Thee we consecrate;
Blessed time of refreshing from the presence of the Lord,
Send it now while we pray and wait.

2 There’s a time of refreshing when the Holy Ghost is come,
As he kindles in our hearts the fire of love;
Then we’ll see “Jesus only,” lips shall speak that once were dumb,
When the Father shall anoint us from above. [Refrain]

3 O the time of rejoicing, when we see our Saviour’s face,
And the fullness of His glory we adore;
But we’ll tarry a little, in the keeping of His grace,
Showing forth His blessed image more and more. [Refrain]
