Virginia Adams was born Virginia DeButts in 1921 and raised on a farm near Melbourne, Iowa where she attended school. She graduated in 1942 in music fine arts specializing in opera at University of Iowa. She married Edward W. Adams having four children spending most of her adult life in Marshalltown, Iowa. She attended many Fred Waring Workshops in Delaware Water Gap, Pennsylvania. She taught voice, directed church choirs and was a leader in the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches. She wrote many unpublished songs having one hymn published in Hymns for Pilgrim People. In 2008 she died on the Amen singing The Doxology. Tom Adams (son) (email to Hymnary) Go to person page >
