A Selection of Spiritual Songs #306
1 Joyful be the hours today;
Joyful let the seasons be;
Let us sing, for well we may;
Jesus! we will sing of Thee.
2 Should Thy people silent be,
Then the very stones would sing;
What a debt we owe to Thee,
Thee our Saviour, Thee our King!
3 Joyful are we now to own,
Rapture thrills us as we trace
All the deeds Thy love hath done,
All the riches of Thy grace.
4 ‘Tis Thy grace alone can save;
Every blessing comes from Thee—
All we have, and hope to have,
All we are, and hope to be.
5 Thine the Name to sinners dear!
Thine the Name all names before!
Blessed here and everywhere;
Blessed now and evermore!

Kelly, Thomas, B.A., son of Thomas Kelly, a Judge of the Irish Court of Common Pleas, was born in Dublin, July 13, 1769, and educated at Trinity College, Dublin. His earnest evangelical preaching in Dublin led Archbishop Fowler to inhibit him and his companion preacher, Rowland Hill, from preaching in the city. For some time he preached in two unconsecrated buildings in Dublin, Plunket Street, and the Bethesda, and then, having seceded from the Established Church, he erected places of worship at Athy, Portarlington, Wexford, &c, in which he conducted divine worship and preached.
