The Bible Satisfies

Representative Text

1 O how I love God’s holy word!
Its truths my life control;
Its messages my breast have stirred,
It satisfies my soul.

Refrain:
It satisfies, it satisfies!
Its precepts make me whole!
My highest prize, O it satisfies,
It satisfies my soul.

2 I read the history so grand
Of how this world was made;
How God with His creating hand
His wondrous pow’r displayed. [Refrain]

3 I find the story sweet and true,
Of Christ who left His throne
To give His life for me and you—
To claim us for His own. [Refrain]

4 O priceless book! O precious page!
O message from above!
A guiding hand thro’ every age;
My first, my highest love. [Refrain]
