Gathering Gems for His Crown

Representative Text

1 Gathering from each kindred and nation,
Gathering from the earth’s wide creation,
Gathering in the heirs of salvation,
Gathering souls as gems for His crown.

Refrain:
Gathering gems for the King’s coronation,
Jewels of love from each kindred and nation,
Gathering in the heirs of salvation,
Gathering beautiful gems for His crown.

2 Gathering from the hedges and highways,
Gathering from the lanes and the byways,
Gathering from the far and the nigh ways,
Gathering souls as gems for His crown. [Refrain]

3 Gathering in the sinful and weary,
Out of a life unhappy and dreary,
Unto a life all sun-bright and cheery,
Gathering souls as gems for His crown. [Refrain]

4 Gathering in the lost and transgressing,
Gathering souls their Savior confessing,
Gathering them to share heaven’s blessing,
Gathering them as gems for His crown. [Refrain]
