I Shall Awake

Representative Text

1 I shall awake some day when the trump shall sound,
And shall meet the angel band;
I shall awake to see my dear Savior's face,
And live in glory-land.

Refrain:
I shall awake, I shall awake,
'Mid scenes of glory fair;
I shall awake, I shall awake,
To live forever there.

2 I shall awake some day when the Savior comes,
All the waiting ones to meet;
I shall arise to mansions of light on high,
My loved ones there to greet. [Refrain]

3 I shall awake to hear many lovely strains,
Such as ear has never heard;
I shall awake to know even as I'm known,
God says it in His word. [Refrain]
