The Gospel Wells

Representative Text

1 I’m drinking at the Gospel wells
Whose fount is by the throne above;
I’m drinking at the Gospel wells,
The fountain of redeeming love.

Refrain:
O how my heart with rapture swells,
While drinking at the Gospel wells;
‘Tis only he who drinks it knows
How sweet and pure the water flows.

2 I’m drinking at the Gospel wells,
The healing water of His grace,
Which every taint of sin dispels,
And makes my heart His dwelling place. [Refrain]

3 I’m drinking at the Gospel wells
Refreshing draughts of joy and peace;
All other joy the draught excels,
And, best of all, it does not cease. [Refrain]

4 I’m drinking at the Gospel wells,
I find them all along the way;
O how my heart with rapture swells!
I find them sweeter every day. [Refrain]
