Friend of the Children

Representative Text

1 Oh, Friend of the children, we ask thee today,
A blessing of grace to bestow,
To take ev’ry sin from our hearts far away,
And wash them and make them like snow.

Refrain:
Oh, take sin away, oh, take sin away,
And a blessing of grace now bestow;
Oh, Friend of the children, we ask thee today
To wash us and make “us like snow.”

2 We love the old story of thy boundless love,
For children that love here below,
How thou in thy goodness hast come from above,
A blessing on all to bestow. [Refrain]

3 We praise thee for blessings received here today,
For grace and for love freely giv’n,
For book of all books that will point us the way,
To a beautiful home in heaven. [Refrain]
