Sing for Jesus

Representative Text

1 Sing for Jesus, Jesus only,
Who from sin has set you free;
Tell of mercy ever-flowing
From the cross of Calvary.

Chorus:
Sing for Jesus, sing for Jesus,
Be a witness for your King!
Sing for Jesus, Jesus only,
God will bless you while you sing.

2 Sing of love that passeth knowledge,
God will help you, do not fear;
Consecrate your sweetest music
To the Friend you hold so dear. [Chorus]

3 Let your voice ring out with gladness,
Seeking only to adore
Christ, the Fount of endless blessing;
Praise His name forevermore. [Chorus]

Author: Lizzie DeArmond

Lizzie De Armond was a prolific writer of children's hymns, recitations and exercises. When she was twelve years old her first poem was published in the Germantown, Pa. Telegraph, however, it was not until she was a widow with eight children to support that she started writing in earnest. She wrote articles, librettos, nature stories and other works, as well as hymns.
