"THEODORE PARK BURT, a native of Mississippi, was born October 19, 1859, of Dutch and Irish descent. He attended the public schools in his county until 17, then entered the High School at Jacinto, Miss., securing a fair English education. He taught in the public schools of Mississippi, Alabama, and Oklahoma, for several years with success.
In 1887 he began the study of vocal music, obtaining a first grade certificate under Prof. Oslin, and later a full normal course. Afterwards, from Prof. H. R. Palmer, of New York City, he secured a diploma. He is one of our best singers. In 1891 he was married to Miss Josie Allen, who is to the present his faithful companion.
