1 Ask and receive; it is God’s chosen way;
Heaven draws near us when humbly we pray;
Come in the name that will always prevail,
Trusting the promise that never will fail.
Refrain:
Ask and receive;
The promise believe;
Trustfully, joyfully,
Ask and receive.
2 Ask and receive; yet our Father knows best
Just how to answer each fervent request;
Just when to send the right blessing we need;
Deeper than words are the wants he can read. [Refrain]
3 Ask and receive; every burden and grief
Take to the Father and find sweet relief;
Nothing too trifling to bring to his care;
Nothing too heavy for Jesus to bear. [Refrain]
4 Ask and receive precious gifts for the soul;
“Riches in glory” are in his control;
Wonderful treasures that ever increase;
Love’s golden sunshine and starlight of peace. [Refrain]
