Showering and shining sweet blessing

Representative Text

1 “Be like the Father,” says Jesus to me,
“Born of his Spirit,” be joyous and free;
Showing the sinner there’s mercy above,
Show’ring and shining the blessings of love.

Refrain:
Show’ring and shining sweet blessings, bright sunbeams,
Show’ring and shining the blessings of love.

2 “Be like the Father,” receiving his grace,
Seeing unclouded the light of his face;
This is the life that my Saviour commands,
Lift me, O Christ, by thy life-giving hands! [Refrain]

3 “Be like the Father,” then must I abide
Under the fountain of Calvary’s tide;
Freshly anoint me, dear Saviour, I pray,
Bless me with purity, keep me today. [Refrain]
