Hymnary Friends,

Please pardon this brief interruption, and please consider a gift today to support the work of Hymnary.org. Here's why.

Each month half a million people visit this website for free access to the most complete database of North American hymnody on the planet. But this project does not come without a cost, and we have limited sources of revenue. Twice a year we hold a fund drive, and these drives are critical to our future.

So if you benefit from Hymnary.org, would you consider a donation today? Even small amounts help, and they also let us know you're behind us and support what we do.

Click the Donate button below to be taken to a secure giving site. Or you can make your tax-deductible contribution by sending a check to Hymnary.org at 3201 Burton SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546.

On behalf of the entire Hymnary.org team, our thanks.

Benedictus Dominus Deus Isr'l

Published in 4 hymnals

Representative Text

1 Benedictus Dominus Deus Israel,
qui visitavit et feciet redentionem plebi suae.

2 Et erexit cornu salutis nobis
in domo David, pueri sui.

3 Sicut locutus est per os sanctorum,
qui a seculo sunt, Prophetarum ejus.

4 Salutem ex inimicis nostris
et de manu omnium, qui oderunt nos.

5 Ad faciendam misericordiam cum patribus nostris
et memorari testmenti sui sancti.

6 Jusjurandum, quod juravit ad Abraham patrem nostrum,
daturum se nobis.

7 Ut sine timore de manu inimicorum nostorum
liberati serviamus illi

8 In santitate et justitia
coram ipso omnibus diebus nostris.

9 Et tu, puer, Propheta Altissimi vocaberis;
praeibis einm ante faciem Domini,
arare vias ejus.

10 Ad dandam scientiam salutis plebi ejus,
in remissione peccatorum eorum.

11 Per viscera misericordiae Dei nostri,
in quibus visitavit nos oriens ex alto.

12 Illumniare his, qui in tenebris et in umbra
mortis sedent, ad diregendos pedes nostros in viam pacis.

13 Gloria patri et Filio et spirtui sancto,

14 Sicut erat in principio et nunc et semper
et in secula seculorum, Amen.
