Bright Easter Day! Dear Easter Day!

Representative Text

1 Bright Easter Day! Dear Easter Day!
Day on which our Lord arose;
Chase all the clouds of doubt away,
Christ has triumphed o’er our foes.

Refrain:
Jesu Christe, Alleluia!
Jesu Christe, Alleluia!
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Jesu Christe, Alleluia!
Alleluia!

2 Bright Easter Day! Dear Easter Day!
Day of days the very best:
Lift up thine eyes, poor soul, today,
Christ has conquered—thou shalt rest. [Refrain]

3 Bright Easter Day! Dear Easter Day!
Songs of joy today we raise,
Glad songs to cheer our onward way,
Songs of love, and songs of praise. [Refrain]

4 Bright Easter Day! Dear Easter Day!
Lord, Thy day of power, this:
We praise in song, in song we pray,
May our souls partake Thy bliss. [Refrain]
