Children listen to the call

Representative Text

1 Children listen to the call,
Of a Savior's friendly voice,
Now entreating one and all,
In His constant love rejoice;
Come while youth and beauty glow,
While with health your cheeks are fair,
Say not hours are moving slow,
Time will load thee soon with care.
Come and join us in our journey
Upward to the better lands,
Home to glory we are marching,
Come and join our happy band.

2 Jesus loves the weakest child,
Longing for relief from sin,
And in contrite hearts, how mild
Is the peace He speaks within;
Yes, there's peace for every one,
Peace of heav'n bestowed on earth,
When the mighty deed is done,
Souls accept the newer birth.
Come and join us in our journey
Upward to the better lands,
Home to glory we are marching,
Come and join our happy band.

3 Jesus is the dearest friend,
E're a child on earth can find,
He who from his throne can send
Comfort for the troubled mind;
Children listen to His call,
'Tis the Savior's voice we hear,
On his mercy trusting all,
He can save from every fear.
Come and join us in our journey
Upward to the better lands,
Home to glory we are marching,
Come and join our happy band.
