Representative Text

1 Close to Jesus I’ll abide,
Rolling ev’ry burden on the Lord, on the Lord;
Linger by his blessed side,
Rolling ev’ry burden on the Lord!

Chorus:
Rolling ev’ry burden on the Lord!
Rolling ev’ry burden on the Lord!
He will us sustain,
Give eternal gain,—
Rolling ev’ry burden on the Lord!

2 For the passing need he’ll care,
Rolling ev’ry burden on the Lord, on the Lord;
Full provision, royal fare,
Rolling ev’ry burden on the Lord! [Chorus]

3 Well he knows what time will bring,
Rolling ev’ry burden on the Lord, on the Lord;
Over all he reigneth King,
Rolling ev’ry burden on the Lord! [Chorus]

4 O what blessing now is mine,
Rolling ev’ry burden on the Lord, on the Lord;
Pardon, peace, and joy Divine!
Rolling ev’ry burden on the Lord! [Chorus]
