Glória Nos Céus

Representative Text

1 Glória, nos céus, a Deus;
Paz, sobre a terra, aos Seus,
Haja afinal. Breve isto tem de ser,
Quando Jesus descer e, com real poder,
Vencer o mal.

2 Graça, verdade e luz
Nos manifesta a cruz
Do Redentor. Ele por nós sofreu,
Por nós a vida deu e nosso copo encheu
De rico amor.

3 Quão grande tal amor!
Quem sabe seu valor?
Vasta afeição! Deus é seu manancial!
A morte sem igual traz gozo perenal
Ao coração.

4 Por esse amor, aqui,
Queremos dar-Te a Ti
Culto, Senhor. Ao nosso Pai também,
Que tanto amor nos tem, por este eterno bem
Damos louvor.

For some time he preached in two unconsecrated buildings in Dublin, Plunket Street, and the Bethesda, and then, having seceded from the Established Church, he erected places of worship at Athy, Portarlington, Wexford, &c, in which he conducted divine worship and preached.
