Go Forth in Fields of Harvest

Representative Text

1 Go forth in fields of harvest,
And strive some sheaves to win,
O do not spend your precious time
In idleness and sin!
The hours are swiftly passing,
O do not longer stand!
Go gather sheaves into His garner
With willing hand!

Refrain:
Then quickly go and labor,
In the harvest field for Jesus work today;
Be idle not a moment,
Quickly go and bear the golden sheaves away.

2 Go forth with spirits loyal,
And do whate’er you can;
There’s work for every child of God
In His all-wondrous plan;
The golden grain is wasting,
Tho’ lab’rers are so few—
O quickly go and evermore
To Jesus be true! [Refrain]

3 And when the harvest’s ended,
And time on earth is o’er,
If you have labored faithfully,
There’ll be for you in store
A home of love and beauty
That never fades away,
And you shall rest from all your toil
And be blest for aye. [Refrain]
