God of glory, God of grace, Hear from heaven, &c. [Holy Trinity.] This popular and widely used hymn for children has been traced to Murch's Sabbath Scholar's Hymn Book, 1849, where it is given anonymously. It passed into Dr. Rule's Methodist Sunday School Book, 1857, and numerous collections of later date, including the Methodist Sunday School Hymn Book, 1879, No. 6, q.v. Original text; the Scottish Presbyterian Hymnal for the Young, 1882, No. 2, and many others. [William T. Brooke]
