1 Have you not a word for Jesus,
Not a word to say for Him?
He is list’ning thro’ the chorus
Of the burning seraphim!
He is list’ning, does He hear you
Speaking of the things of earth?
Only of its passing pleasures,
Selfish sorrow, empty mirth?

Chorus:
Yes, we have a word for Jesus!
We will boldly speak His name!
We will tell the wondrous story,
And his matchless love proclaim!

2 Have you not a word for Jesus,
Will the world His praise proclaim?
Who shall speak if you are silent,
You who know and love His name?
You whom He hath called and chosen
His own witnesses to be,
Will you tell your gracious Master,
Lord, we cannot speak for Thee? [Chorus]

3 “Cannot!” tho’ He suffered for you,
Died that you His love might know?
“Cannot!” tho’ He has forgiven
Making scarlet white as snow?
“Cannot!” tho’ His grace abounding
Is your freely promised aid?
“Cannot!” tho’ He stands beside you,
Tho’ He says, “Be not afraid?” [Chorus]

In the following year she says, "I committed my soul to the Saviour, and earth and heaven seemed brighter from that moment." A short sojourn in Germany followed, and on her return she was confirmed in Worcester Cathedral, July 17, 1853. In 1860 she left Worcester on her father resigning the Rectory of St. Nicholas, and resided at different periods in Leamington, and at Caswall Bay, Swansea, broken by visits to Switzerland, Scotland, and North Wales.
