Heavenly wisdom, be my guide

Heavenly wisdom, be my guide

Published in 1 hymnal

Representative Text

1 Heav'nly Wisdom! be my Guide;
Suffer not my Feet to slide,
Nor, from thy All-perfect Way,
Lost in Paths of Sin, to stray.

2 When! O when, coelestial Guest,
Shall my Soul with Thee be blest?
Lo! my Heart, with studious Care,
For thy Presence I prepare.

3 Ne'er shall my presumptuous Hand
Dare to break thy just Cammand:
Ne'er within me shalt thou find
Aught, that speaks a faithless Mind.

4 Visit too this pious Band:
All, who round thine Altar stand,
And in sacred Homage join
To their own great Lord and mine.
