Representative Text

1 Here on the altar of true love,
We give ourselves anew;
One faith is ours, one God above,
One aim to will or do,
And O the flame that blazes bright,
And never waxes dim,
Is hearty love for God and right,
Inspired by love for him.

Refrain:
We consecrate ourselves anew,
Our all to him we give,
O may we do as he would do,
And love as he would love.

2 In union sweet we love to meet,
And feel “the tie that binds,”
It gives relief to weary feet,
And balm to fainting minds;
And O the common ties of earth
Are small compares with his,
For ours the bond of princely birth
The hope of heav’nly bliss. [Refrain]

3 We consecrate ourselves anew,
Our hearts best off’rings give,
Resolved to do as he would do,
And live as he would live;
And O we know we must succeed,
With such a Guide and Friend;
Our vows will blossom into deeds
And in fruition end. [Refrain]
