BISMILLAH (The Koranic Invocation)

I BEGIN in the Name of the Lord

Author: Thomas Charles Hunter Clare
Published in 1 hymnal

Representative Text

I BEGIN in the Name of the Lord,
On the rock of His might take my stand,
His knowledge and love be my ward,
His truth be the tool in my hand.

I begin in the Name of the Lord,
In His strength let me keep on my way;
My life must His goodness record,
His light will illumine my day.

I begin in the Name of the Lord,
By His word all my moments to guide;
My purpose in His shall be stored,
My station secure at His side.

I begin in the Name of the Lord:
Good my Master, Thy servant defend,
Thy grace and thy wisdom afford,
That I go in Thy Name to the end.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . Amen.
