Representative Text

1 I cannot keep from singing
The praises of my God,
Who filled with many blessings,
The path that I have trod.

Refrain:
I’ll praise the Lord in the morning,
I’ll praise the Lord until noon.
I’ll praise the Lord ‘til the eventime,
Ends my praises too soon.
I’ll praise the Lord ev’ry minute,
‘Til life is over, and then I’ll enter the gates of heaven
And begin all over again.

2 My cup is running over,
With mercies manifold;
Of those that yet await me,
The half cannot be told. [Refrain]

3 Then let us all together,
Lift up the voice and praise,
The One whose loving-kindness
Has filled with joy our days. [Refrain]

4 The Psalmist tells it better
In number twenty-three,
I thank the Lord He wrote it,
For it has strengthened me. [Refrain]
