although I move so slow.
I'll wait until the vict'ry comes
and move at God's command.

2 I love the Lord: who heard my cry.
And pitied every moan.
Long as I live while trouble rise,
I’ll hasten to God's throne.

3 I love the Lord, who bowed an ear.
And chased my grief away.
Oh, let my heart no more despair,
while I have breath to pray.

4 The Lord beheld me sore distressed,
and bade my pains remove.
Return, my soul, to God, thy rest,
for thou hast known God's love.
