Representative Text

1 I know not how soon Christ is coming again;
But He said, “Be ye ready to go;”
The clouds shall descend and the trumpet shall sound,
O Brother, be ready to go.

Refrain:
In an hour that you think not your life here will end;
In an hour that you think not, and so,
Be ye children of light, come to Jesus tonight,
And you will be ready to go.

2 Of that day and hour, there is no man who knows,
No, not ever the angels of light;
The Father’s own bosom the secret conceals,
So, Brother, be ready tonight. [Refrain]

3 If ready to live, you are ready to die,
Or to enter the portals of light;
At midnight or noon, He will not come too soon,
Then come to the Savior tonight. [Refrain]

4 The Master may tarry, but don’t be deceived;
Like the virgins no oil for your light;
There’s no time to buy, when the Bridegroom draws nigh,
O Brother, be ready tonight. [Refrain]
