1 I will trust thee, loving Savior,
With the pathway I shall tread;
Let it be with glory showered
Or with dimness overspread.

Simply trusting in my Savior,
I repose upon his breast;

What he does for me is best.

2 In life’s morning I will trust thee,
Be my Counsellor in youth.
Help me triumph in each conflict,

Only wilt thou near me stand;

For that reason we can stand in amazement when here, in the 1970s, such old-line denominations as the Episcopal church are being racked with controversy over whether the ordination of women is permissible.
