Representative Text

1 I’ll work for Jesus, for he saves my soul,
His blood redeemed me, and his touch made whole,
He took my burden, and my heart is free
To serve the Master who will care for me.

Refrain:
I will work till the shadows fall,
Work till I hear his call
To mansions waiting, ever bright and fair,
Then hallelujah, I shall see him there.

2 I’ll work for Jesus, tho’ so weak am I,
Rich stores of mercy will my need supply;
O, for his Spirit in abundant pow’r,
To strengthen, help me, every passing hour. [Refrain]

3 I’ll work for Jesus, while the day is bright,
The way is open, fields already white;
The sowers mingle happy songs of praise,
With shouts of rapture which the reapers raise. [Refrain]

4 I’ll work for Jesus, till the glad “well done,”
When palms are given, and the crown is won;
Then higher service be it mine to know,
Where streams of pleasure evermore shall flow. [Refrain]
