Representative Text

1 In Gottes Namen fahren wir,
sein Hülf und Gnad begehren wir;
des Vaters Güt behüt uns heut,
bewahr auch unser Seel und Leib.
Kyrieleis.

2 Christus sei unser Geleitsmann
bleib stetig bei uns auf der Bahn,
und wend von uns des Feindes List,
auch was sein'm Wort zuwider ist.
Kyrieleis.

3 Der heilge Geist auch ob uns halt
mit seinen Gaben mannigfalt.
Er tröst und stärk uns in der Noth,
und führ uns wieder heim zu Gott.
Kyrieleis.

(Koch, i. 390-398; Allgemeine Deutsche Biographie, xii. 186-188, &c.) He was a great friend and helper of J. Mathesius (q.v.)… Go to person page >
