Happy Seasons

In happy springtime forth we go

Author: Irvin H. Mack
Tune: [In happy springtime forth we go]
Published in 1 hymnal

Audio files: MIDI

Representative Text

1 In happy springtime forth we go,
With hoping hearts the seeds to sow,
And ask the earth so kind and warm,
To keep them safe from ev’ry harm.

Refrain:
Let christian workers hear the call,
‘Een now He’s sounding forth to all,
The Saviour bids us garner in
The sheaves of good from fields of sin.

2 The hours and days go flitting by,
The rays of sun are drawing nigh,
The smiling buds are peeping out,
All nature lifts a thankful shout. [Refrain]

3 Behold how bright the fields appear,
‘Neath summer sun which now is here,
The fruit hangs heavy ev’rywhere,
That all may in its bounties share. [Refrain]

4 The autumn leaves have come at last,
The spring and summertime have past,
The gleaner’s songs are sounding sweet,
They separate the tares from wheat. [Refrain]
