Representative Text

1 In the clouds of heav’n returning
To the earth again,
Soon we’ll meet the King of glory,
And with Him shall reign.
Tho’ rejected by the builders,
Who did Him despise,
We’ll be changed and be like Him—
’Tis marvelous in our eyes.

Refrain:
Sing hallelujah! Let the anthem ring;
Shout loud the praises
Of our Savior King:
To His throne of endless glory,
We with Him shall rise,
Clad in robes of spotless white—
’Tis marvelous in our eyes.

2 Rise and trim your lamps, ye virgins,
For the midnight nears;
Keep them filled with oil, and burning,
Till the Lord appears.
Gird your loins about with truth, keep
Looking to the skies,
Waiting for our Bridegroom King—
’Tis marvelous in our eyes. [Refrain]

3 Blessèd are those faithful servants,
At our Lord’s return,
Whom He’ll find awake and watching;
All the rest shall mourn.
He’ll receive them to Himself, to
Dwell in paradise;
God shall wipe away their tears—
’Tis marvelous in our eyes. [Refrain]
