Betty Pratt Barrett was an educator and manager of the Lafayette Pilot Public Library for more than 15 years. She is married to a minister, A. Wayne Barrett. Her hymn "Increase in Knowledge of Thy God" was a second place winner in the fourth Southern Baptist hymn-writing competition in 1966.
