Girds the soul with holy pow’r,
Brightens life, and sweetens labor,
In the use of every hour.

Pleads the saint in earnest prayer,
For he labors souls to rescue

Henry Barnett Beegle was born on December 13, 1818. He belonged to the New Jersey Conference of the Methodist denomination at one time. He resigned from the ministry around 1875 to become the first superintendent of the Ocean Grove New Jersey Camp Meeting Association.
