Representative Text

1 Let us be one in mind and heart
With Jesus Christ our Lord,
As we prepare to break this bread
And share this cup outpoured.

2 Here in our midst true love abides,
One Spirit whom we share,
One Lord whose promised gift of peace
Is ours; his name we bear!

3 Though we are many in his love,
The Father sees but one,
And hears one voice, The Spirit's song,
In Christ, beloved Son.

In some hymnals, the editors noted that a hymn's author is unknown to them, and so this artificial "person" entry is used to reflect that fact. Obviously, the hymns attributed to "Author Unknown" "Unknown" or "Anonymous" could have been written by many people over a span of many centuries. Go to person page >
