Tune: [Look ever to Jesus] (Baltzell)
Published in 1 hymnal

Representative Text

1 Look ever to Jesus!
O languishing soul!
Tho' waves of temptation,
Like mountains may roll,
He'll never forsake thee,
His friendship is true;
Look ever to Jesus,
He'll carry you through.

Chorus:
Look ever to Jesus,
Look ever to Jesus,
Look ever to Jesus,
He'll carry you through.

2 Look ever to Jesus,
When dark is the sky;
Cold seemeth the friendship,
Tear-dimmed is the eye.
He is thy companion
When earth-friends are few;
Look ever to Jesus,
He'll carry you through. [Chorus]

3 Look ever to Jesus,
Thy refuge and rest;
He is thy salvation,
Oh, lean on his breast;
When at the dark river
Your friends may be few;
Look ever to Jesus,
He'll carry our through. [Chorus]
