Og fall i synd og Sut.
Me gjorde illa
Og veik fraa Livsens Leid,
Me for i Villa
Som Sauder vidt paa Heid.
Til Spott og Spilla
Me fram i Uferd skreid.

2 Guds Kjærleik stundad
Aa sona oss med seg.
Hans Visdom grundad
Daa ut so god ein Veg:
Sin Son han sende
Her ned fraa Himmelhall;
Vaar Verk han kjende
Og sonad fyr vaart Fall
Og um oss vende
Ved Andens trugne Kall.

3 Til Liv me vaknad
Ved Jesu sæle Røyst.
Fyr Sorg og Saknad
I trui fann me Trøyst.
So aldri tvila,
Men trygt til Jesus fly!
Der kann me kvila
I ville Vaapengny
Og sæle smila
Igjenom Taaresky.

4 I Storm og Stilla,
I Faare og i Fred,
I veglaus Villa,
I Myrker utan Med
