Representative Text

1 Never a sorrow becloudeth my sky,
But Jesus is near to deliver,
Never a peril but God hears my cry,
And Jesus is near to deliver.

Refrain:
Jesus is near me wherever I go;
When I am tempted and tried by the foe,
Jesus is near to deliver.

2 Never a night is so dark or so wild,
But Jesus is near to deliver,
Never shall harm reach His blood-redeem’d child,
Since Jesus is near to deliver. [Refrain]

3 Why should my spirit be burden’d with fear,
Since Jesus is near to deliver?
Why should the pathway seem lonely or drear
When Jesus is near to deliver? [Refrain]

4 When I shall enter the valley I’ll know
That Jesus is near to deliver,
Jordan’s dark waters shall not overflow,
For Jesus is near to deliver. [Refrain]
