O Christe, Morgensterne

O Christe, Morgensterne

Tune: O CHRISTE MORGENSTERNE
Published in 14 hymnals

Representative Text

1 O Christe, Morgensterne,
leucht uns mit hellem Schein;
schein uns vons Himmels Throne
an diesem dunkeln Ort
mit deinem reinen Wort.

2 O Jesu, Trost der Armen,
mein Herz heb ich zu dir;
du wirst dich mein erbarmen,
dein Gnade schenken mir,
das trau ich gänzlich dir.

3 Du hast für mich vergossen
am Kreuz dein teures Blut;
das laß mich, Herr, genießen,
tröst mich durch deine Güt;
hilf mir, das ist mein Bitt.

4 O Jesu, Lob und Ehre
sing ich dir allezeit;
den Glauben in mir mehre,
daß ich nach dieser Zeit
mit dir eingeh zur Freud.
