O Helligaand o søde trøst

Representative Text

1 O Helligaand, o søde Trøst,
Som flyder ind i Sjæl og Bryst
Til den, som har et ydmygt Hjerte!
Jeg beder dig med Længsels Smerte:
Ak, træng os dog i Sjælen ind,
At varme op det frosne Sind,
At vi ei lunkne eller kolde,
Men brændende vor Pinse holde!
Halleluja, Halleluja!

2 Træd ind, du ædle Pinse-Gjæst,
Og giv min Sjæl en liflig Fest!
Lad Hjertet udi Troen brænde,
Og sig med Magt til Himlen vende!
Træd ind, og Naadens Gjerning gjør,
giv Aandens Liv, som aldrig dør!
Saa kan jeg ved din Naades Gave,
Den rette Pinseglæde have.
Halleluja, Halleluja1

3 O Helligaand, o før mit Sind
Dog ret i Andagts Lue ind,
Og lær mig til min Gud at træde
I Bønnens rete Kraft og Glæde!
Jeg er saa lunken i mit Bryst,
Ak, giv mig ret en Hjertens Lyst
Til dig, min Skat foruden Lige,
At faa og aldrig mere svige!
Halleluja, Halleluja!

4 Ak, vidne i mig,hvor jeg gaar,
At jeg hos Gud i Naade staar,
Og før mig bort fra Syndens Vane
Paa Himlens rette Løbebane!
Du Visdoms Aand, klar op i mig,
At Sjæl og Aand og Hjerte sig
Kun ønsker i dit Lys at bygge,
Og hader Syndens forte Skygge!
Halleluja! Halleluja!

5 O Helligaand, regier min Aand,
Og før mig ved din egen Haand
Mod Synden Dag og Nat at krige,
Og altid Abba Fader sige!
Lad Jesu Fred i Hjertet bo,
Og gjør mig stadig, huld og tro,
At ingen Ting mig fra dig driver,
Men jeg udi dit Samfund bliver!
Halleluja, Halleluja!
