Representative Text

1 O may I worthy prove to see,
The saints in full prosperity;
To see the bright the glittering bride,
Close seated by her Saviour's side.
Hallelujah.

2 O may I find some humble seat,
Beneath my dear Redeemer's feet;
A servant as before I've been,
And sing salvation to my King.
Hallelujah.

3 I'm glad that I am born to die,
From grief and woe my soul shall fly;
Bright angels shall convey me home,
Away to new Jerusalem.
Hallelujah.

4 I'll praise him while he lends me breath,
I hope to praise him after death,
I hope to praise him when I die,
And shout salvation as I fly.
Hallelujah.

5 Farewell vain world, I'm going home,
My Saviour smiles and bids me come;
Sweet angels beckon me away,
To sing God's praise in endless day.
Hallelujah.

6 I soon shall pass the veil of death,
And in his arms I'll lose my breath;
And then my happy soul shall tell
My Jesus has done all things well.
Hallelujah.

7 I soon shall hear the awful sound,
Awake ye nations under ground;
Arise and drop your dying shrouds,
And meet king Jesus in the clouds.
Hallelujah.

8 When to that blessed world I rise,
And join the anthems in the skies;
This note above the rest shall swell,
My Jesus has done all things well.
Hallelujah.

9 Then shall I see my blessed God,
And praise him in his bright abode;
My theme through all eternity
Shall glory, glory, glory be.
Hallelujah.
