Representative Text

1 O, we greet with joy and song
All the smiling flower-throng,
For in gladness and in joy we stand
In the splendor of the year,
In the dawning bright and clear,
Of the golden Summer land.

Refrain:
O the Summer land!
The beautiful Summer land!
O the Summer land, the glorious Summer land!
There no clouds shall dim the sky
In that happy home on high,
In that heavenly Summer land,
In that heavenly Summer land.

2 O, another land awaits,
Far beyond the sunset gates,
Far beyond the gleaming ocean-strand,
There shall be no grief or gloom,
In that morning land of bloom,
In the heav’nly Summer land. [Refrain]

3 So in helpfulness and praise,
Let us pass life’s golden days,
Till in gladness and in joy we stand
At the portals of the gates,
Where that gleaming city waits,
Of the heav’nly Summer land. [Refrain]
